3D Technology / Augmented Reality

3D simulations and the use of mobile, AR and VR devices at mcs.

Challenge

How can a complex set-up task be performed on a machine or system in a way that is efficient and targeted?

Solution

mcs has been developing projects with 3D visualisations since 2006. One example is our offline programming for the TRUMPF TruBend 7000 bending cell. This software integrated the programming of a Scara robot, a 6-axial bending robot and a press brake. Before the NC code is generated, the entire automated part production can be simulated and depicted in three-dimensional space.

This product forms the basis for employing VR and AR devices. mcs has experience in application programming for Microsoft HoloLens with the Unity toolkit. Using these technologies, it is possible to guide complex set-up tasks on a machine, initiating them efficiently and error-free.

Advantages

mcs is specialised in 3D solutions. This includes the use of industrial 3D cores and 3D toolkits, the simulation of machines or robot movements and their visualisation in VR (virtual reality) or AR (augmented reality) devices.
